Having trouble sleeping? Lavender is known to help promote relaxed sleep, and is a comforting aroma to have in the bedroom. However, it is a tricky little beast! Like a lot of essential oils, a small quantity produces one result, but a larger amount creates exactly the opposite effect. A small amount will make you drowsy but a larger quantity is a stimulant.

 

The best way to use it therefore is not to apply it neat from the bottle. Instead, put a few drops into a small spray bottle, add some water, and shake well. Then spray a fine mist on to your pillow. Remember to shake it each time you use it, and you’ll be zzzzing away in no time!
