Many uneducated societies believe that the sun and the other planets revolve around the earth.  Many people in supposedly advanced societies believe exactly the same thing. They think that the world revolves around them and that everyone else should dance to their tune.

 

Psychologists who study very young children have discovered that all infants believe that they are the centre of their own universes. The thing is, we are supposed to grow up! Our life experience should teach us that we can’t control the world and everything in it, but some of us still go on trying to.

 

Next time you catch yourself wanting someone or something to change to suit your needs, STOP! You can’t change the planetary order, you will only exhaust and embitter yourself in the attempt. Take a deep breath, look up at the heavens, and remind yourself that things are what they are, and the sun isn’t going to change its course across the sky because you want it to!
