You want to have a serious conversation with your man, but before you’ve said more than a couple of sentences you can see he’s starting to get defensive, maybe even hostile, and before you know it, instead of a discussion you’re having a fight. What went wrong?

 

If you want to talk to a man, there are four little words you need to avoid at all cost. What are they? “We have to talk…”

 

When you say those words, what you mean is that you want to discuss something. But what he hears is “uh oh, I’m in trouble” and starts to react accordingly. If you want to discuss something, just do it. Don’t preface it with those four emotionally loaded words, and you’ll get a lot further with the conversation.

 

There are only four words that will get you a worse reception: “I told you so!” So eliminate the Fatal Four from your vocabulary and things will improve a lot!
