With Easter upon us, here’s a wee reminder that might help to save a happy occasion from turning into a sad one. Chocolate is toxic to dogs. If you want to give your pooch an Easter treat, give proper doggy “chocolates” and avoid the human variety. If you are planning an Easter Egg Hunt, make sure Fido doesn’t play too. Keep your dog away from the action. Remember that dogs are experts at sniffing things out, so account for all the hidden eggs before you let him loose, or he will find any that have been missed, and may eat them wrappings and all. This leads to bowel obstructions as well as poisoning. Even hard boiled eggs are risky as dogs tend to wolf things whole, and these can cause choking. It’s a bit like swallowing a rubber ball. Best keep Easter for the human members of the family and you’ll all enjoy it a lot more.

Happy Easter to you and your best friend!
