Timing

Timing a reading is always difficult. People always want to know "When?" (and they generally want the answer: "Today!") There are a few gifted readers who are very skilled with timing, but the majority find this a problematic area. The best thing to do is to decide on a system and stick to it.

I use the Aces as seasonal indicators: Ace of Cups = Spring; Ace of Wands = Summer; Ace of Pentacles = Autumn; and Ace of Swords = Winter. If there are a lot of Major Arcana Cards, and cards indicating waiting (the Seven of Pentacles and the Nine of Wands, for example) then I know that it will be a while before the outcome manifests. If there are a lot of cards indicating hurry and busy-ness, like the Knights, and the Eight of Wands, then it will be sooner rather than later. I also automatically assign the reading a six month time frame unless the client asks for something different.

You can really only practice, observe the patterns and relate them to the feedback you get, and fine tune your system. Try not to be discouraged if timing is your weakest point. It is so for most readers, even those with years of experience.

From the client's point of view, ask the reader about their accuracy with timing, but don't expect miracles, and be suspicious of those who claim "100% accuracy". No reader is infallible in my experience. (But if you find one who is, I'd love to know about it!)
