HOW You are Like a Pencil....
If it helps bring about a higher level of consciousness then I am all for anyone using it.
You and the pencil were both created with an unique purpose. You both were designed to leave your mark in this world.
The pencil knows its purpose. If it gets misused, used for something other than it was designed for, such as, a back scratcher, a toy sword or a screwdriver, its life will be endangered.
In much the same way, you need to know your purpose, stay focused on it and don’t allow yourself to be distracted or you endanger your very existence. There are many people who are currently working on figuring out what their life purpose is. Ultimately our true purpose is to simply live life filled with joy and love. How does it get any better than this? Discover love and joy in all that you do and you will be richly fulfilled.
You and the pencil can always correct your mistakes!
If the pencil makes a mistake it doesn’t give up or dwell on the mistake. It doesn’t feel like a failure and go into self doubt. It simply erases the error and moves on without looking back. How wonderful is that!
In the same way you were also given an eraser. It is called forgiveness. You can not change the past, all you can do is learn from it so as to not repeat the same action. Forgive others and most importantly forgive yourself for your mistakes. Use your eraser daily and move on. Release and let go of anything you are holding onto that doesn’t feel good, does not align with your authentic truth and no longer serves you.
The inside of a pencil is more important than the outside. The inside is connected to the purpose of the pencil. The outside may tell a story. It may be chipped or show some bite marks or even be filthy dirty. However, that doesn’t matter as the inside is what it takes to fulfill its purpose.
Just like the pencil, your purpose is connected to what is inside of you. Your car, house, clothes, money or any other material possession won’t make you happy. It is what is inside of you that will make you happy.
We tend to look for the answers to a fulfilled life on the outside when all our answers lie within. Value what is in YOU more than what’s on the outside!
In order to be able to fulfill its purose, the pencil will endure painful sharpening in order to continue to be used.
In the same way, you may endure painful experiences, trials, and tribulations to test you, teach you and train you to be better than you were before. There is a reason we all go through these sharpenings, it’s part of our journey to fulfill our purpose. I often say, some of my best gifts came in pretty crappy wrapping paper! I would not be where I am today, doing what I love to do as a Life Clarity Coach if it had not been for these sharpenings!
The pencil depends on the hand that holds it to enable it to fulfill its purpose. It can not leave its mark on this world all by itself.
In the same way, you are not designed to leave your mark in this world all by yourself. Allow your creator, whether you know it as God, Spirit, The Universe, Buddha or something else, to hold and guide you so you can fulfill your divine purpose.
We all need to be constantly sharpened to be the BEST we can be. I encourage you to know that you are a beautiful spiritual being with unique talents and abilities. Only you can fulfill the purpose which you were born to accomplish. Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and can not be changed.
Like the pencil, always remember that the most important part of who you are is what’s inside of you and then allow yourself to be guided by the hand of your creator.
