Who Is Your Ghost Writer?

A few years ago I was asked to ghost write a book for someone who had a publishing contract but could not write the book. Although I was unfamiliar with the subject matter I agreed to the assignment and began writing a rather lengthy book on event planning. Every week I received a concept for a chapter which I researched and then put the content together. The book was published and although someone else's name is listed as author, the words were all mine. Occasionally I look through the book and reflect on how I took someone else's experiences and created a story that others will know them through. When we give our authority to others, it is similar to hiring a ghost writer to write the story of our reality.

If our efforts to create a happy, successful and fulfilling life are not working out we can turn to others to create this life for us. We give them our power and authority and give them the directive to create our dreams for us. We basically hand over our power and tell them to 'make us happy.' Sometimes this works to our benefit, but often it does not and we find ourselves with a reality we don't want. We blame them but the fault lies with us-we are the authors of our reality and our spiritual authority cannot be relinquished. When we are reflecting powerlessness, we create a powerless reality.

When we think someone else can write our life story in a better or different way than we can we are disconnecting from our spiritual authority. What we are really doing is allowing the illusion of the material reality to cloud our spiritual vision. We forget that our material reality is a reflection of our inner power, which we can change by reconnecting to Source. And without spiritual understanding we can fall into the belief that the most powerful, happy, successful person we know can help us create a reality that reflects theirs. And we turn over our power to them not realizing that they cannot create for us in the same way that they create for themselves. And  then we're disappointed, disillusioned and feeling even more powerless.

Hiring a ghost writer is one way to write a story but the words and tone of the story will be those of the one who writes the story. No one can write your story better than you can and although you may feel that you do not have the information, words or ability to write the best story, you are the only one who can write this story for yourself. So while hiring a ghost writer to write your life story is always an option, it will be much more interesting, fulfilling and meaningful to you when you remember your spiritual authority and write the story that you want for yourself. That's how you create the reality of your dreams and the life that you want to live.
