This is a tough one, it would depend on the person.I think that in either scenario it is game playing if you do it to get a reaction. If you decide to move on or feel it is the best thing for you to do and what you want to do it isn't game playing.

I have done this in the past- I called it game playing when I did things to try to get a reaction out of my Mr. C. I didn't take his calls because I wanted to get a reaction out of him, so forth. It wasn't right for me and I don't like doing that however when I avoided his calls because I was feeling low or not in the right frame of mind- I don't feel that was game playing. It was me doing what was best for me at that time.

I think if u are taking the date to get a rise out of the person then yes it is a game. If u know it is truly over and u want to move on and try to be happy then no it is not a game.

As for telling the person's friends hoping he would find out then yes it is a game it's called the old jealousy game.

If u were to move on u wouldn't care if he found out or not because u were moving on and he would have nothing to do with what u are up to.

I agree with the previous comments. In the first Scenario, accepting a new date is clearly a game, or in other words, an attempt to manipulate someone else's behavior through indirect methods. This behavior is coming from too many wrong places to produce a happy outcome. First, if the other person broke off  contact, and there is no emergency or other similar explanation, then it's over, time to move on, not a time to continue to cling to the person. Second, going out with someone he or shie is not genuinely interested in will not likely result in a very rewarding experience for either one; it's unfair to the new date and confusing to oneself - what am I really doing here with this person? Last it can "backfire", be construed as betrayal indifference by the person one is hoping to win back by this behavior. Go out with someone new if attracted, if feeling a need social contact, if attracted to the proposed activity, etc. - for inner reasons, not for a reason based in the external world of appearances and what other people think.
Scenario 2 sounds healthy to me. This person values self enough to a) let go if something is really over b) consider the other person's feelings and how their conduct might affect them c) observe some fidelity and d) move toward a positive experience with another person, which may or may not be romantic in nature, at least at first.

THIS SAID - it is nevertheless true that, if someone important to us is taking us a bit for granted, then acquiring a new interest, activity or friendship (not necessarily a new LOVER) can re-ignite the spark of interest that has waned due to familiarity. It doesn't hurt (and is enjoyable and rewarding) to keep one's interests and associates outside the primary relationship vibrant and alive. This dimension will definitely "feed" the main relationship and help keep it alive and evloving over time.

I think all 3 of you hit the nail on the head and grasped the point I was trying to make.
Morning Star 85 mirrored my thoughts on the scenarios exactly and I couldn't have explained it more clearly myself.
The point is in my opinion, if you truly feel you are doing things for your benefit and not for the sole purpose of a reaction from someone else, it is not playing a game.
I totally agree about finding new interests and activities to take your mind off of a situation you are not totally happy with. Any outside interests (excluding another lover) can only help to nurture the existing relationship.

Looks more like revenge for an emotional let down to me. Very insecure reaction in both cases.
As far as those girls know the Mr (ers) could be dead or ill and unable to answer their phones.

I would interpret it as game playing as well. The outcome: A lot of crazyness, since obviously them girls were out to hurt for having been hurt.

As far as sitting at home and waiting? No I don't think that would help. But there is a difference between going on a date (ego) or keeping busy and going on with life.

You can not make someone love you. But you have to love yourself. Only then can others can and will love you. Therefore you have to make sure that you are happy in whatever endeavor you engage in.

It sounds easy but it's not. It takes half a life time to learn this.
