OK, so who's right?

Frequently, I hear clients express tremendous frustration regarding different predictions from different readers.  “Jim, six other readers said the exact opposite of what you’re saying.  Who should I believe?”

My first expression is usually one of empathy, as it’s hard for a client, already going through confusion in their journey, to feel even more confusion as to which way the issue in question is going to ultimately play out.

“Often, different professionals have varying opinions,” I might say.  “You can’t expect everyone to have exactly the same opinion or insight.”  Sometimes a client feels reassured by being able to hear the same thing from dozens of readers, and thinks that by telling me that many others have predicted something, I’m supposed to back down, and go with the majority.  Although I never state that others are wrong, I always honor what I feel, and stick with what is coming to me.  That’s what every psychic is supposed to do!

But beyond that, I do try and provide tools for the caller to navigate through this situation.  First, I always advise the client to write down what every reader says, as sometimes, it all tends to blur together somewhere down the road, as undoubtedly, the issues are emotionally intense.  Secondly, I remind the client that the only thing they should be paying for is accuracy, not comfort or a feel good session.  As frustrating as it may sound, I let the client know that the truth will become apparent in time, and that he / she may have to let time play out to indeed see whose predictions are right, and whose predictions are wrong.  Thirdly, I let the caller know that psychic ability is not a “the majority rules” situation.  Just because multiple readers all say the same thing, doesn’t necessarily mean that that’s the prediction that ultimately is going to happen.

Since having a reading should be about receiving truthful information and guidance, I always remind the seeker that whoever is correct is the right reader for them, whether that is other readers, or myself.   It can be frustrating for the caller, but time always unveils the truth, and in the end, the truth is always most certainly revealed.

I always tell people that if you need more than one reading then your not searching for the truth. Your searching for what you want to hear. This is an on going issue for tarot readers because when you don't tell your customers what they want to hear then you must be wrong. Like you said I allow them to see things on their own and then they will know.

Thanks for this article Jim. In my early days of psychic browsing, I called scores & scores of psychics. Not only was I trying to understand psychic talent but also pursuing my quest - "Was L coming back to me?" - I made a running table of all the answers I got too - Interestingly I did not end up with a 50/50 distribution which would have said to me that psychic talent was chance hit & miss event i.e the same result as me flipping coins - instead about 80% said he was my soulmate & would return - Needless to say 5 years later the majority rules theory has failed & the minority prevails. So guess who I call these days?? - the psychic that works best for my temperament, one who can tip that probability statistic right over the scale and can explain things to the level & depth I need - not just the magic 8 ball in my kids' toybox!! You're the Best!!

Well this is a great article, because as it turns out I too have fallen victim to that "who is right?" and the one person who I should have listened to and didn't was myself! My own little intuition, my own "knowing" but I just wasn't willing or wanting to hear it or face it... I was told reader after reader.. "he's the one, he'll be back, he's your soulmate.. you're lesson is patience, it will pay off you'll see!" Ah ya four years later and he's not back and I'm saying to myself, "I knew I was right."  Along the journey there were readers who would say, "he'll never grow up or something else," but I chose not to listen.  Anyhow, bottom line is take all of it with a grain of salt and by far trust the number one and that is yourself and your own intuition. At least that is my perception.  Things will come as they are suppose to...
