Alcohol + Relationship = Disaster

He gets drunk and the life of the party....She gets drunk with him, and all hell breaks loose. Or, it’s the other way around. Why? Because folks: alcoholic beverages can be lethal to a loving relationship.  It’s an oxymoron: “loving” and “alcohol” don’t even belong in the same sentence with the word RELATIONSHIP.  Alcohol can suck the life out of the love if one or the other of you consistently indulges in it. Hateful words are spewed in fits of drunken stupors.  Then, there are the hateful actions that can also be equally painful if turned physical.

Do your relationship a favor. Be kind to it and don’t drink.  A glass of wine or a beer is fine; however, if neither of you understand or are aware of your limits – don’t even start drinking. Yes, this is the party season full of festivities and folly. Don’t be the embarrassment of the party that your date has to drag home wearing the Christmas tree ornaments. You may think it’s cute, but it isn’t. KNOW YOUR LIMIT.

While in the process of being aware of your limit, not only do you show your host & hostesses respect, but you also show respect to your date. Behavior is talked about the minute that you stumble out of the door (not to mention the inevitable fighting that begins the minute the two of you get in the car).  Unfortunately, the fighting will continue on and on – and probably to the point of no return. MOST break-ups occur this time of year not because of someone else that has entered the picture – but of SOMETHING else that intrudes on your relationship: alcohol. KEEP IT TO A MINIMUM.
