All you need is LOVE - to get you through!
Welcome to your Hallmark Holiday Nightmare: a day created so that men can lavish women with chocolates, flowers, and other things that demonstrate love. Yippie. Yeah, right. I’ve been there – when huge bouquets of flowers arrive at the office and there sits the recipient of them doing an Academy Award winning performance of being “surprised”. Ok, guys, we get it: flowers are beautiful. Chocolates add to our waistline, and if we truly need perfume, then obviously our “Secret” isn’t working.
Am I cynical about Valentine’s Day? Yes, and no. Yes because I don’t feel that it has all that much to do with “LOVE”, and no, because everyone likes recognition of some variety.
So here’s the deal. Be your OWN Valentine. Love yourself. Do something unusual for YOURSELF today, if you don’t have someone around to toss a Hallmark card at you. Write out all the reasons why YOU are the bestest (ok, it’s not a word, but I’m making it one) catch in all the land – or you may write out all the reasons you’re grateful for just being YOU.
All you need is love? Na… in actuality – all you ARE is love! Love YOU!
