Don't WONDER about Winter - Be BRAVE!
I recall last winter... when it snowed up here in the high country of Arizona - wondering what in the world I was doing. I found myself doing a lot of reflecting. Traditionally, I feel winter to be the time of year when people reflect. We think. We assess our present relationship, realize that not only is it what we don't want, but it's never going to evolve into what we would LIKE to happen. As December flies through, we look upon the New Year with anticipation and hope that it will be better than the previous one.
So much hope, in fact, that there are all kinds of resolutions made for the new year. Some may declare that a new body is in order, go on a silly diet, work out like crazy for a few weeks at a gym, then experience severe burn out. (Guilty, as charged).
Others may dump their significant others, only to realize that maybe they weren't so bad, and try again to make the relationship into what they want. (See paragraph one). Woops, not going to happen. Here's a brick, just pound your head on it... same result.
And then there are the truly brave ones. These are the people that welcome the new year with realistic goals, realistic aspirations, and make these things happen. Be brave! If your relationship isn't working for you - step OUT of your comfort zone. Be single for a while, do the things that you enjoy doing, take up a hobby or two, learn to cook, read books, rent a ton of movies, learn to enjoy your own company.
If your job isn't what you want, start looking for something that makes your heart sing, and a position that you actually look forward to showing up for every day.
If you're having struggles with family - make ammends. Swallow your pride or whatever caused the initial rift, and settle it. You only have one family- and they will love you regardless of whatever happened in the past.
Look forward, as you're looking back and be honest with yourself. Take the time to wonder during the winter about what you can do to create a better YOU, a better life, and suddenly you will realize that you've got it. It will come in subtle transitions, but it will come.
Winter Wonder land, indeed. It's a still time, purposefully gifted to you by the Universe to quiet your mind and reflect....then change. Be BRAVE. Boldly go where you've never gone before - spiritually and emotionally speaking.
