E-Cation The Art of Learning a NEW Language!

Ralph Waldo Emmerson must be rolling over in his book-piled grave right now. Words are used to express our deepest emotions, our purest (or unpure) thoughts, and EFFECTIVELY convey a message. Someone has created an entirely new language that I will call E-Cation... The Art of Abbreviation. It's not a language at all, and unless you learn symbols and numbers, you'll be left out - or left confused.

I don't know why this hasn't occurred to me sooner! It hit like a bolt of lightening out of the sky. The breakdown of communication is going to continue! It has the ability to totally destroy language all together. Why? Because of the abbreviations used through text messaging and other similiar platforms that have a limited capacity for words.

"RU 4getting tht we were 2 mt 4 coffy?"

Arrgh!

Frus8ting @least. or to say the least, it's frustr8ting. Retraining our brains to decipher a new way of communication, when communicating 1's thoughts are diff. enuf as it is!

NO WONDER there R so many relationshp. probs. when ppl won't even take the time 2 write as an adult, or betr yet, just pick up a phone & call.

Yes, it's gr8 2 B able 2 send a brief "HI" L.U. 2 some1, but it truly is recreating a new, and difficult method for getting ur point across. Pls. take the time 1nce in a while to actually WRITE an email out w/o abbreviating or using numbers & symbols 2 replace wht ur trying 2 say.

Make it a GR8 day! & I send you angels,

jane

OK, or should I say okay.... guilty as charged.  No more LOLs (laughing out loud), or OMGs (oh my God) or BTWs (by the ways), etc.,; ah - I mean etcetera (which I just found out as I write this is not even in my spell check).
