God Hosts Reality Show: Lunar Eclipse
Of course I got my days mixed up. I was thinking, it will happen on the 28th. That's today, right? Then it dawned on me, a lightbulb moment around1:00am this morning, "Wait! This IS the 28th!!"
I watched the initial shadowing - through my trusty binoculars. It looked like the moon was mirroring the Earth, the shadows appearing similar to our continents. Then, little by little, the Earth's shadow covered the moon and all that remained was a beautiful orange-glowing orb adorning the sky. It hung there, suspended, for what seemed like hours (probably because I was pretty tired) in actuality, it stayed for about an hour.
I braced myself, waiting for the etherical impact that this was supposed to have on me, but that didn't happen. No visions of a brighter day, No sudden relevations, No spiritual awakenings...the only emotion was one of pure awe, and how truly magnificent our Universe is.

I'm still in awe of it, as I recall the pictures in my mind. And, I find it no coincidence that I woke up at the right time this morning in order to witness it all - I'm grateful that I didn't miss out.
