Golf imitates Life

I can undeniably declare that it is crucial to surround yourself with like-minded individuals; those that are positive, upbeat, and don't have a negative thought in their heads.

It's the same on the golf course. Some of you may have picked up a club now and then, topped the ball, used a few choice words describing your crummy attempt, and then your whole game goes down hill from there.

Look upon your friends like golf clubs. You know you won't go wrong with a 6 iron. It's a great middle of the road club, and super for the par 3's.

Your driver, on the other hand, wow - that's as intimidating as your one-iron. They have the same loft,  but the driver has that huge chunk of wood surrounding it to get a little extra carry out of the ball.

The other woods that you may carry in your bag aren't as difficult, and sometimes become the clubs that you are the most comfortable with.

How'd I get off on golf? Well, I feel that it's the one game that truly imitates life. If you start off on the first tee and duff your shot, you can allow it to wreak havoc on your entire game; much in the same way that if you wake up in the morning and are crabby - -chances are you'll be crabby the entire day.

However, if you hit a great tee shot, that sets the tone for the rest of your day, much in the same manner that when you awake in the morning and declare that it's a fabulous day, full of positive energy and looking forward to the events - guess what? You HAVE already made it a delightful day.

As for the friends in  your circle, or as previously mentioned, the clubs in your bag - do you really NEED all of them? You're probably not a professional, so maybe you just need to carry the ones that you are confident will give you a good game.... um, sorta like nurturing the friendships that you know will support you when you're down, and make sure your days go merry and bright and all's right.

Well, that's my analogy for Friday. Go dust off your clubs, decide which ones you need - hey, you may very well need an entirely new set...which is okay too. Especially if they've fulfilled their purpose.

I'm available on a limited basis for the next few days. Yup, the family thing going on, and it's a great feeling being surrounded by like-minded, supportive and loving people!

Sending you angels,
Jane
