How "GREEN" is YOUR Spiritual Environment?
So you drive a hybrid car, conserve water, use solar power, and recycle your trash. Bravo for you and congratulations on being aware that "going green" is great. Your world is focused on going 'green' and staying conscientious of recycling. Today I ask you to examine your spiritual self and ask yourself, "How Green is my Spiritual Environment?"
Following is an excerpt from one of my favorite books, Angel Courage,
that I'd like to share with you:
Ten Stupid Ways
To
Pollute Your Spiritual Environment
From “Angel Courage”
by
Terry Lynn Taylor & Mary Beth Crain
Human beings are very adept at the art of polluting. From creating a cloud of cigarette smoke to leaving behind toxic waste, we are notoriously unconcerned about what we’re doing to the Earth and how it affects the physical and emotional health of all living creatures. The spiritual environment is equally susceptible to pollution.
Here are ten common ways to pollute the spiritual atmosphere:
1 Talk about fearful, tragic things relentlessly
2. Report awful statistics to those in need of hope
3. Bore others with an insatiable need for attention
4. Indulge in envy or jealousy
5. Pity yourself in front of others
6. Refuse to find humor in anything
7. Suppress inspiration
8. Steal a dream
9. Put other people down
10. Act anxious and focus on your time when you are with someone
Try to keep your spiritual air pollution free!
