Obama Epitomizes the word RELATIONSHIP!
2009. The year of change. What a great year it is! Think about it! We have a new president that is inspiring. I said in 04 when Obama gave the keynote speech at the DNC, "wow!" And, I said, "Obama in 08". My friends were like, "Who???" So what does Obama have to do with relationships? EVERYTHING!
Obama is charismatic, and delivers a message with articulation and clarity. He is awesome. He is MY President, he is YOUR president of The United States of America. It is a time of healing... and a lot of repairing. Exactly what our country needs at a time that is so critical. He is someone that has fundamental values that we all can embrace. I am excited and looking forward.
He is PRESENT with us, and makes us all feel that we make a difference. Isn't THIS the epitomy of a great realationship? A partner that respects YOU as much as you do HIM? One that will inspire you to become better, learn to alter your perspectives and see things outside your shoebox you've been in?
I said yesterday, "If I WANT a partner, I need to BE a partner"... which essentially translates to "I need to learn to bend a bit and not be so rigid in my thought process".
Obama is OPEN to LISTENING to what we need, what we want, and what will work. Granted, the honeymoon phase is upon him, and as with all relationships - there will be ups and downs. The bottom line is that we will survive and thrive.
Obama is a president for ALL American people, not just a select group - he represents ALL - and I can't stress this enough. For the most part, and I am proud to say this, I am color blind. Color is something that doesn't define the man/woman - so what? He's bringing the United back to America.
Learn from the relationship that he is building with the American people. Learn that YOUR relationship can parallel the relationship that Obama is in the process of building with the American people, as well as global leaders and other countries. Be PRESENT in your relationship, too. Obama is certainly present with Americans today!
