Pardon the interruption, but I have to rant for a minute....
Why do students at ASU have to wait forever in 100+ temps for commencement OUTSIDE??? There are INDOOR arenas in AZ - MOOOOVE IT!!! Geesh. What brain surgeon thought this one up????
Ok, so the Prez is giving the big commencement speech, but for crying out loud - having graduates wait in LOOOONG lines (security) then being told they can't bring water INSIDE, yet water is being provided inside for free (Thank God), it just doesn't make sense.
Originally it was to be held at the United Airways arena (where the Phx Suns play) - this is an INDOOR arena. They move it to Sun Devil Stadium and this is because???? WHY? It's about 106 out there right now (4:15pm Arizona time) and the thing doesn't even begin until 7:00pm. On the field it is surpassing 110 degrees. This is HOT, folks. Very HOT. Obviously, it's okay because Obama will be delivering a speech.
The good news? Alice Cooper, local resident and legendary Rock Star, will be rockin out to his famous "Schoool's out" song (drawn into infamy in 1974) while the students, faculty, families, and invited guests sweat it out. (Or, in Richard Simmons terms: Sweatin' to the Oldies)....
