SUMMER Love? or just SUMMER Fling? 5 Top Signs!
Ah! The joys of July! Summer love and all that other stuff that Olivia Newton John and John Travolta cast in stone "summer love" as they sang and "Greased" their way through the dilly dally days of Summer vacation. How fun it is to laugh and live in moments that are surrounded by endless days and cool nights under the stars? You can relish these moments forever and remember them for years. There truly is nothing like the fun of Summer Love!!
But, is it Summer Love or just a Summer fling? How do you know? Will it continue into the fall and the "Happily Ever After" or is it going to fizzle and flop on a hot sidewalk in August?Here is my top 5 list of how to tell if it’s going to grow and blossom, or fade away by Fall
1. Your time spent alone is full of passion, but no promises
2. The time you DO spend together is seldom alone, it is surrounded by other friends or in other words, it's a barrier to true intimacy
3. Activities are planned one or two days ahead of time, not a couple of months out. Any talk of "future" activities, the subject is changed, or followed by an awkward silence.
4. There’s a lot of laughter, but an invisible wall exists so you don’t get too close. No REAL "getting to know more about you" exists. Superficial tid-bits are exchanged, but no REAL personal topics are approached. For example, what is his/her family life like. Sure, you know he likes mustard on his hamburger but does he have brothers & sisters?
5. Your love interest starts to fade and be less available as the first part of August approaches. Your calls are returned but not nearly as quickly as they once were, the text messages are fewer, and the intimate moments are quicker followed by a "gee, I gotta go"... not the "I could stay here forever" feeling you once had.
Enjoy your Summer Love/Fling. Cherish the moments, take lots of pictures to capture those Kodak times, and remember it fondly – without resentment. If it is more than a "Summer Fling" you'll know by the end of August!
