Selection of a Keen Advisor for YOU... what makes a difference?
How much of an impression does it make on you when you see
that a particular advisor reads for ‘celebrities’? Are you influenced by their
numerous television or radio appearances? Does the number of books they’ve
authored or are in process of writing impress you? Do you even care?
What matters most to you when selecting an advisor to read
for YOU?
On the few occasions that I’ve felt the need for validation
or clarification on a particular event or relationship issue, I have sought out
advise on Keen. I cannot read for myself, because I’m too influenced by my own
thought process- in other words, the ego self of Jane gets in the way of the
higher self. The advisors I’ve consulted with are fabulous helping me gain
clarity on subjects too above my own ego to see clearly on.
I selected MY advisors after I would read completely through
their listing, and seeing where their area of expertise was. I wasn’t swayed by
fancy titles or headlines or what celebrities they’d read for. I was interested
in how long they’ve been an advisor, what their accuracy rate was, and how
gifted they were. I would read what their ‘verified credentials’ when Keen was
posting those, and it’s a shame they took those off. I also went through pages
of feedback. The occasional one-star or 3 star rating only showed me that they
were true and real. Face it, no one is 100% accurate, and sometimes we just
don’t click with whom we’re speaking with.
This is how I selected whom I’ve spoken with, and received
very clear, concise and great advice from. Personally, “celebrities” are
people, too; with the same blurry issues that all relationships are plagued
with. I think that it’s great if an advisor has a radio show, and announces it.
It doesn’t make him/her any better than the others. It just means that they are
more aggressive with their profession. I had a radio show for a while that was
very successful. I got tired of it. It’s a lot of work, so kudos to those that
are hosting their own shows. I know the work that is involved.
My blog today is merely out of curiosity, that’s all. And
the question is, are YOU swayed by ‘celebrity” readers? How do YOU choose what
advisor to consult with?
