Single? HOW to get the LOVE LIFE YOU Desire!
Single? Wanting a love life? Here are some clues that may assist you in
getting what you want - without resorting to computer dating sites
which can be SO frustrating!
Now-a-days, many single people out there are forced to develop more
creative ways to meet someone that could be a partner and special
person. Hate to break it to you, UPS, FedEx and Airborne have
discontinued delivering partners to doorsteps (Yes, their program
Partners for Singles was dropped - too much liability). What does this
mean? Well, first - you have to put yourself OUT of the house and in a
position to actually interact with someone.
- Check your local paper for activities that YOU enjoy. Granted,
you may not meet the perfect guy at a quilting club, so when you do
this think "mixed" crowd.
- Scrabble for you word nerds is a fabulous way to meet the intellectuals (sprinkled with a sense of humor).
- Book signings at Barnes & Nobel, or any other book store
are great. Face it- you already have ONE thing in common, the book
you're getting signed.
- Dog parks. (OK, if you don't have a dog, borrow one or act like yours ran off).
- Join clubs in your area. Make sure that these hold interest to
YOU, thereby ensuring that you meet someone with the same interest!
- Gardening. Come on! Who doesn't enjoy learning how to grow the perfect spinach or grow the perfect rose?
- Classic Car Clubs. These can be a ton of fun and you KNOW there will be men there.
- Cooking classes. Everyone likes to eat. You'll be amazed, you
might even make new friends along with finding a chef you can carry
home to your kitchen!
- Art classes. Your own Vincent may be into picking up a paint brush!
- Alcoholic, Gamblers, Co-Dependents Anonymous
- Why? Because the last thing you want is for someone that is
going to transfer their addiction to you. Remember, we're on a quest
for a HEALTHY relationship.
- Intellectuals - go to the library, book stores. Make sure that you go to the section of the library that interests you. OR, you could go to the section that you "want to learn more about"....
- Social intellectual wannabe's: take your laptop and go to
Starbucks or your local coffee shop. Oh, sure, it's cliche, but hey- it
works.
- The produce section of the grocery store. You know they can cook if they are picking up more than just a tomato and an onion. And, they will know YOU can cook if you're picking up fresh asperagus and prosciutto!
- Sporting goods stores. You're bound to find some activity you
have in common with someone there - rollerblading, camping... shooting.
- Circuit City, Best Buy - wander around in the computer section and start talking to him about which computer to purchase.
- Home Depot. This can be "iffy" due to the amount of married men, however it's easy to spot the single ones. It's also easy to feign
ignorance about which kind of sprinkler system part you may need (even
if you don't have a sprinkler system).
You get the idea. In order to GET a love life, you need to be in a
position to RECEIVE a love life! Here's your assignment: Go get your
paper or check online at the clubs and activities in your area. Turn
off the T.V., the computer, and get out of your house! Keep me posted on your success!
