Thought Bubbles on a Wednesday or Things I wonder about

 

Why is it that the minute the DVD collection is all up to date from VHS, along comes HDVD and other technology forcing it out of date?

Why is it that my 73 year old mother needed a "faster" computer? I wonder if she's wanting to zip around cyber space at warp speed.....

Why is it that when an accident occurs, some huge company inevitably gets sued? What happened to taking responsibility for one's actions?

Why is it that truly smart, intelligent women often date truly stupid, uninteresting and dominating men?

Why is it that awesome men, with a great sense of humor, intellect and tons of self respect often date trashy women?

And, Finally - Why is it so hard to get Mr. Wrong out of your head?

Inquiring mind wants to know.

Mel's Response to Jane's Inquiring Mind:

1.)  I refuse to upgrade my video collection, rebelling against hi-tech (high cost)...still watch VHS!!

2.)  Perhaps your 73 yr old mother wants to chase a 73 yr old man through cyberspace...ahem, has she asked for a webcam yet?

3.) As a truly smart, intelligent woman...I only date Smart, Interesting and submissive men.  Hmmm...but then I haven't had a date in YEARS!!!

4.)  Where are these awesome men, with a great sense of humor, intellect and tons of self respect located?   Phone number please?  Email address?  (See Response #3...it's been YEARS!)

5.) Have no problem getting Mr. Wrong out of my head!  (See Response #3...no Mr. Wrong, Mr. Right, Mr. Maybe...or even Mr. Will-Do-for- the-Moment!!!)

You forgot betamax machines the ones before vhs! Lol. Also vinyl, 8 tracks, cassettes, cds, and now mp3s. I don't have an ipod because I don't have an 8 year old in my life to show me how to use it lol. My 75 year old mum just bought a new computer, too. I wondered, what the hell is she doing on it bec she never emails me!!
What happens when we are in full blown age of aquarius and technology takes even faster leaps and bounds? How do we keep up, make a clone of ourselves and raise us and nurture ourselves right the second time around better than we were the first time? Would our clone have a soul? One last note, not too long ago it was 3 networks and all good shows, now I've got 73 (only) channels and there's nothing to watch? I watch reruns of shows I grew up on lololol

Excellent answers, mel, thank you! Excellent points to ponder, Anonymous....Yes, I remember betamax. And, although it was the BETTER technology, cost won out, thus VHS became the mass market preference.
