When Life Hands You Lemons.....
I don't know about you, but when life hands me lemons, I get mad. I look at this yellow fruit, oval shaped with a tough skin, and wonder - ok, what in the world am I supposed to do with this? I don't LIKE lemonade. Sometimes, no matter how much we want that lemon to be a savory piece of chocolate, it isn't. What to do with your bushel of lemons?
Well, you can try throwing them back on the tree, but you may as well get a brick and bang your head. They won't stick.
Yarn to hang them back on the tree will break.
You can ask yourself, "how did I end up with this basket of lemons" and try and figure it out, but more than likely you won't get any satisfactory answers.
Lemons are just blessings in disguise. "What???" It's true. There is no really "bad" news, there isn't really any "bad" things happening - it's all in your perspective.
They do make for a nice cleaning agent - especially the garbage disposal. Add the lemon juice to some vinegar and you've got something that will remove doggie stains from carpet. If you cut them in half, they make for a nice aroma in your kitchen.....at least until they rot.
Bottom line: if you don't like lemonade, and you're tired of getting lemons thrown at you, try to deal with it the best that you can. And, believe it or not, refusing to acknowledge those lemons is sometimes the most assertive action you CAN take. "Hey, those lemons aren't for ME...no way, Mr. FedEX dude - take them back".
Here's to your lemon-free day!
Sending you angels,
Jane
