"Surrender Dorothy" isn't just a Kansas thing....
Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed.
-Michael Pritchard
We are all aware of what "fear" does. *yawn*. We read endless articles on thwarting off fear, phobias, and how it holds you back from experiencing all the fun things that life may offer. Sure, we read this stuff - but how much of it really sinks in to the point that we "get" it?
Surrendering is a PROCESS. It doesn't happen overnight, just as any diet that you're on doesn't melt the pounds away while you sleep. Surrending our fears is a commitment. And, frankly, most of us are commitment-a-phobes when it comes to letting go of it.
So, today I have a suggestion for you. Just for today say to yourself, "Self, I surrender the control that fear has on me." JUST for today, do something that you otherwise would not do, because your own fear justified you not doing it. (ie: Go somewhere alone. Go talk to someone in the produce department. Ask for directions).
It's just today. And today is only one day out of the other 364 days of the year. I challenge you to let go. Just for today, don't be "afraid" that he won't call. Don't be fearful that your affections are not returned in the manner that you would like. Just BE.
