Activities That Will Help You Feel Good About Yourself
Any
of the following activities will help you feel better about yourself
and reinforce your self-esteem over the long term. These can be done today and start you on a positive track right now!
Make a list of
- At least five of your strengths, (for example, persistence, courage, friendliness, patience)
- At least five things you admire about yourself,( for example the way
you have raised your children, that you have been able to adapt to your job changes, or that you take a daily walk, that you lift other spirits when they need it)
- The five greatest achievements in your life so far,( like recovering
from a serious illness, graduating from high school, or learning to use
a computer)
- At least 20 accomplishments -( they can be as simple as learning to knit or do carpentry, to getting an advanced college degree)
- 10 ways you can "treat" or reward yourself that don't include food
and that don't cost anything, (such as walking in woods, renting a row boat, watching children playing on a playground, smelling a beautiful flower, or chatting with an old friend, borrow a good book from the library)
- 10 things you can do to make yourself laugh( watch funny movie, find some things on "you tube" and save them for laughs later.)
- 10 things you could do to help someone else( like write a thank you note, offer to babysit, donate to charity)
- 10 things that you do that make you feel good about yourself( like eating 5-7 servings of fruits or vegs a day, wearing makeup, buying a new accessory, washing your car)
