Moon Magik Part 1
The Moon and its phases has played a
major part in energy work, magikal spells, and basic survival.
The Farmer's Almanac continues to use the Moon Phases in their
recommendations of when to plant and a variety of other
activities.
The Moon and its enormous magnetic ability
controls the tides of the mighty oceans. It was recently
pointed out to me that 70% of our body is comprised of water.
Is it no wonder that our moods and physical condition can be
effected as well?
The Moon Cycles:

The time of the New Moon lasts
approximately 3 days from the start of this moon phase.
During this time it is beneficial to work on projects or
intentions. It is a good time to start a new job
or anything new. Key Word: Beginning |

7-14 days after the New Moon. The
Waxing phase of the Moon is a time when the Moon is
becoming more visible. It is moving towards the
culmination, or the Full Moon. This is a time for
activities that build on what you started during the New
Moon. |

14-17 days after the New Moon is
considered to be the time for any Full Moon endeavors.
This is a time for anything that needs an additional
boost of power. It is also about the culmination
or ending of a cycle or stage in our lives. Full
Moons are good for clearing. |

3-10 days after the Full Moon is
considered the time for intentions that need the magik
of the waning moon. This is a time for banishing
and clearing out anything that no longer works for you

A word about the "Dark Moon" : Many people refer to the
New Moon as the Dark Moon. There is evidence however that
points to the ancient belief that the Dark Moon is the time 3
days prior to the New Moon. This is a time when any
binding or banishing spells were done. It was also a time
where spells were done to bring about swift justice or a swift
closing of a matter. I personally believe that the time
prior to the New Moon is a powerful time and should be
considered apart from the New Moon.
