Why People Marry
Once I asked a friend why she chose to marry. She gave me one of the best reasons I have ever heard.
I was curious about her decision, because she was Childless by Choice. Also, both she and her husband were independent people, who managed their money separately. Third, they had lived together for many years without being married.
"What does marriage mean to you?" I asked my dignified, ladylike friend.
She said, "It means ain't nobody getting out of here without a stink!"
