Jupiter/Saturn and the Great Bail Out
This week we saw the biggest government bail out in America's history. If I were to say that we (the US) are in a critical time and crossroads in history, that would be putting it mildly. Government officials continue to try and work out a solution to bail out the banking industry and stabilize the financial markets.
Astrologically, issues have been brewing for some while contributing to what we are now seeing on the financial front. Saturn in Virgo relates to job issues, and this cycle began in September of 07'. Jupiter (planet of expansion) is in Capricorn this year, the most restrictive and least expansive of signs. We are approaching a Uranus-Saturn opposition that becomes exact the day before the Presidential election. Uranus-Saturn represents a complete change and departure from the past. In the coming days, I will write more about this powerful aspect, the likes of which we have not seen since 1962-65 when we experienced complete social change.
Jupiter (the planet that represents government) has been in a trine (positive angle) to Saturn (representing our structure) for most of September, and continues to do so within a few degrees over the next few weeks. The definition of Jupiter-Saturn is stability, or in this case an attempt by the US government to secure banking /financial markets. There is a short window of opportunity with this aspect, and government leaders appear to have seized the opportunity (planetary aspect) with this plan.
In the event that Congress does not act within the next several business days, I expect legislation relating to the bail out to become mired /slowed down/changed with retrograde Mercury. Mercury goes retrograde in Libra on Wednesday, September 24th in the sign that rules the law and partnerships. In all reality, I expect this to be a period of re-accessing-discussing-changing the proposed bail out. Mercury goes direct on October 15th.
