Monday's New Moon  (June 22) is at 1 degree of Cancer.  New moons signify new beginnings, and Cancer is the natural ruler of the 4th house, the home and the foundation upon which we build our lives. It opposes the 10th house (Capricorn) of priorities, career and business.  It is the house of the Father. So it is these areas in which we will look for the greatest changes.

Cancer is the most emotional of all signs and is considered to be the nurturer, the one who keeps the home fires burning, although all Cancer's would not fit this description.
What makes this New Moon different is the fact that it opposes Pluto (The God of the Underworld) at 1 degree in Capricorn. Pluto deals with sex, the darker side of the emotional nature, hidden elements and obsessiveness. The result are  super-charged emotional responses involving matters connected to the 4th and 10th houses-
Our home, priorities and very foundation upon which we build our lives is at issue.

The New or Full Moon begins it's influence 3-5 days before the lunar peak actually occurs.  Collectively, we have now seen a major events start to play out with Wednesday's news that President Obama has signed the Domestic Partners Act, giving same sex couples the same rights under the law claimed by heterosexual couples in terms of insurance and hospital visiting rights, etc.The issue of Gay marriage will become a heavy debate in America in coming months with Saturn in Libra, but that is for another newsletter.

The weekend will bring further events that will be in sync with the New Moon as we near the end of the week.  You can depend on events will taking on an emotional tone and there will be much emotional manipulation in force. The best advice in this case is to think rationally before acting, or lashing out on a moment's notice.  It must be remembered that Pluto will make thought obsessive and ideas hard to let go of. It is supercharged! It is also in the Cardinal sign Cancer, meaning the energy will occur faster and events will take on greater importance.

In two weeks we experience a lunar eclipse in Capricorn at 17 degrees, the opposite sign of Cancer and the natural ruler of the 10th house and business. This time Venus will be squaring Pluto evoking another type of emotionally charged energy.  The financial markets will be in the news and a further change in the direction of the stock market will likely occur.

This Supercharged New Moon will effect anyone with a planet aspecting  the 1 degree mark of Cancer. Otherwise, those affected in a potentially difficult manner will be will be Cancer's and Capricorn's, and issues relating to relationships and partnerships. Libra's and Aires will be affected in the area of the home, career, and the foundation of life and relationships as well.
