Energy picks up as Mars enters Leo today (Saturday) after a 5 month stay in the emotional sign of Cancer.  Mars went retrograde On November 14th, 2007 at 12 degrees of Cancer.  It retrograded in Cancer until January of this year, when it went into Gemini.  It moved back into Cancer in March.  This has been quite a stay for Mars in one sign and those who have  been most effected have been Cancers, Capricorns, Libra's and Aires. 
 
So, it's the start of a new 2 year cycle for Leo's, as Mars enters that sign.
 
 In Greek Mythology, Mars (or Ares) was the God of War. Mars represents the drives of mankind--self-assertion, aggression, competition, desire, even sexual desire. Mars represents the "male energy'" within us all, and Mars attains his desires by aggressively acting,  Mars rules our action, energy and the passion with which we approach all things.
 
Leo is the natural ruler of the 5th house of friends, love affairs, and children.  So, with Mars in Leo,  these areas of life will come more into focus during this time.
 
Mars in Leo goes after things in a far different way than Mars in Cancer. Mars in the fire sign of Leo is more flamboyant, feisty, aggressive, showy, and more decisive. Mars will remain in Leo until July 2, 2008 when it moves into Virgo.
