Venus will conjunct Saturn today through Friday, August 15, becoming exact on Wednesday August 13. This influence will be felt more strongly on Tuesday the 12, and Wednesday the 13. This energy may put a temporary break on love and relationships, forcing us to look at things from a more realistic standpoint as opposed to wearing rose-colored glasses.
Venus rules the  areas of our life connected with love and money, along with art, entertainment and creativity. It is a good time to think about how secure your life is, especially in these areas. It is a time when frustrations may start to seethe to the top if your financial and emotional needs are not being met.  Saturn and Venus together represent frugality both financially and emotionally.  One of my favorite Author/Astrologers, Dr. Herber J Smith wrote of the influence of Venus-Saturn around the turn of the 20th century, "This is a decidedly nasty one. Plan nothing social for this time. You are likely to expect too much of your friends and you may feel somewhat dull, unhappy or slighted, and get your precious feelings hurt. If you are disposed to be jealous, now is the time for the exhibition of this charming trait, and misunderstandings, grouches, sensitiveness, wounded feelings and tragedies constructed out of vague imaginings, slight will not be so nice to you at this time so be a sport and smile if it kills you." While the next few days may not be quite this dramatic, if you feel that your life/job/money is not enough, or your lover is not responding to your needs let a few days pass before taking this feeling too seriously, and I think you will see that things will lighten up.
On the positive side Venus-Saturn can represent a culmination of things, an awakening to the reality of a situation and the forging of partnerships. If this is the case, any partnership/relationship that is begun may not be the most flamboyant in the world, but it should be very stable, and have the potential for long term.
It is likely that we will be hearing more news relating to jobs and the financial markets.
