Today's New Moon/Solar Eclipse fell at 18 degrees of Virgo At 8:44 AM EST. Virgo is a critical sign that scrutinizes details more than others, and you may find at this time you are paying more attention to detail than at other times.  This is good for anything that requires critical thinking, planning and going over things in detail. This is the companion eclipse to the full moon eclipse in Pisces that occurred on August 28. 
With the keyword for Virgo being critical  there are several ways things can transpire.  You may be concerned with the critical details of something you may be trying to accomplish, OR you could become overly critical of another person or situation, or they may react in a critical manner toward you today, or over the next few days. Critical can become somewhat of a double edged sword.
With the New Moon opposing Uranus today, things may occur of a surprising nature: expect the unexpected.  We will probably see some extreme weather conditions, and Uranus rules airplanes, electricity, earthquakes, and events of a surprising nature.  Ironically, today we observe the 6th anniversary of 9-11. 
Virgo is the natural ruler of the 6th house of work and productivity. Author Carol Rushman writes about an eclipse in the 6th house, or Virgo, "The sixth house has to do with your work environment, employment, productivity, pets, health and habit.  An eclipse in Virgo or  the 6th house is a good time to give up smoking, go on a diet, or change your personal habits for the better,  You could break a bad habit,  but on the negative side you could fall off a diet."   Emotions can be supercharged, and super powerful today, and it is my belief it is best to avoid acting in a reactionary manner.  New moons are times of new beginnings, and today is a perfect day to plan for the future. Those most effected by today's eclipse will be Virgo's, Pisces, Gemini's,  Sagittarius or anyone with planets that are triggered by the New Moon at 18 degrees in Virgo.
