Dipping Sauce Recipe Just Like Gutherie's
All the guys love this sauce. It is for dipping those chicken fingers, fries or other foods that need a dipping sauce. This is NOT my recipe but believed to be the authentic ingredients used in Gutherie's sauce that so many know and love. This same dipping sauce I believe is also used at Zaxby's. Rumor has it that a "guy" worked at Gutherie's for a few days and quit. Taking the recipes with him he started his own restaurant. While most Gutherie's are now closed down, Zaxby's has become a franchise and is thriving. A lot of people think it is because of this special sauce. Not sure if they make this special sauce in other parts of the US but in Georgia where both restruants were founded, and a few other southern states it is loved. Some compare it to Thousand Island dressing, the taste is close but not quite the same. It is not my favorite as I am a honey mustard kind of gal; but it is one of my son's favorites. You can think him for calling me asking for the recipe the other night. I forgot what it was and had to call one of my old buddies who used to work there to get it again. Because it is made in big 5 gallon containers the exact amount is unknown and you must use your own judgement. Keep an open mind as you should love the end result. Enough rambling here it is.
Mix together equal parts of Kraft Real Mayo and Heinz Catsup (1/2 cup each for 1 cup)
then mix equal parts of garlic salt, ground black pepper, and worschestire sauce (spoonfuls at a time) to taste.
You don't want it to be too salty, but salty enough. ENJOY! Your kids will love it! So will the guys!
