This is a very controversial subject. It is bound to raise some eyebrows. I am by no means saying the methods are the best, or that I am an expert on any of these methods. I found out about lunar fertility years ago, perhaps it was pioneered by Dr. Jonas, and the diet method by Dr. Shuttles. You can find kits, and calendars on the web for premium prices. Yes I admit I did use lunar fertility to conceive 2 children. But the other informatin I just happen to stumble on years ago, and am sharing it with others now. It is up to individuals to come to their own conclusions. I have not tested these methods out. Not included is scientific fertility methods and treatments. All the methods I list are alternative. I thought I would give some insight into how these various methods work to aid in conception, and in conception of a preferred gender. There are so many types and areas of astrology, and not all astrologers are experienced in all areas of astrology. Astrology can pinpoint great timing for many things. You can use astrology to determine optimal fertility dates. This is information quite simple, yet many astrologers just don't take the time to learn. I once consulted a well known astrologer. I made it clear that I wanted to know my fertility dates before our appointment. Well, no fertility dates were given and this astrologer had no knowledge on how to find fertility dates. Thinking there must me one who could help me I tried again. The second one proceeded to tell me how I was going to be some business tycoon, the female equivalent of Donald Trump. When I explained that first I have no business experience, no business attire, and so forth not even to mention not my desire or plans it made no difference. Needless to say I decided to figure this timing thing out myself. So here goes listen up, the gender methods I figured out to help someone else. After using all my time and energy to help this woman, she never used any of the methods. She went on having sex 1 time a month only and using ovulation testing strips. Needless to say, she did not get pregnant. Forget your menstrual cycle, it has nothing to do with lunar fertility. If your menstrual cycle is in sync then you are pretty ripe. Even timing fertility treatments with your lunar fertility days makes them more successful. This is for female fertility. I never bothered to figure out male fertility dates.
First thing you must do is get a copy of your birth chart. This can be done online for free just by entering your date, time and place of birth on various websites. Notice the degree of the moon, every month when the moon is in the same degree you are fertile. Next what phase was the moon in? The new moon, crescent moon, first quarter moon, gibbous moon, full moon, disseminating moon, last quarter moon, or balsamic moon? Some say during the time of this moon phase you are fertile. What sign was the moon in during your birth? Remember moon signs are usually different than your sun sign. What sign is the direct opposite of your moon sign? You are fertile also every month when the moon is in those two signs. So there now you have some new dates to try out. If you want to get your menstrual cycle back in sync with the moon, sleep with the curtains open if possible. If not you can try artificial lighting, like using a dimmer switch in the next room. Keep that light in sync with the moon, like brighter when the moon is full and dark during the new moon.
Some simple fertility tips or helpers I will give as well. Have sex frequent but not too frequent, like every 2-3 days. After sex, lie down and rest for two hours. You want to give those sperm a good chance to swim their way to the egg, without excreting most of them out of your body. Absolutely no douching, this interferers with the natural ph of the vagina. Lubricants are not a good idea when trying for conception either. You want your partner to have a good supply of sperm. Both the male and female should be eating a good nutritious balanced diet. I personally recommend meet, dairy and eggs be organic or at least without hormones and antibiotics. There are several herbal fertility teas and fertility formulas on the market. Just off the top of my head, false unicorn, vitex, and red raspberry leaf are some good herbs you want to look for in the formula. Reflexology has been known to be effective. Even hypnosis is a good fertility helper. The most important thing is to keep stress out of your life as much as possible.
Moonstones and rose quartz are good fertility stones. Pinecones are also a good fertility symbol. Let's not forget the African fertility goddess. It is said if you rub her belly you will conceive. There are also various fertility spells. Please make sure any spells you purchase come from reputable sources.
For those of you looking to conceive a boy or a girl, there are several things said to enhance conception. First lets look at the moon. The moon transitions through all the signs much quicker than the sun. Watch what sign the moon is in. Having sex when the moon is in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius is said to favor conception of boys. Having sex when the moon is in Virgo, Capricorn, Taurus, Scorpio,Cancer, and Pisces is said to favor conception of girls.
Next during sex shallow penetration is said to favor conception of girls, deep penetration is said to favor conception of boys. Masonary position is said to favor conception of girls, while rear entry is said to favor conception of boys. Having sex at ovulation is said to favor boys, having sex a a couple days before ovulation is said to favor conception of girls. The woman having an orgasm is said to favor conception of boys, not having orgasm favors conception of girls.
Not recommended for various reasons is douching. Douching with baking soda is said to make the vagina more alkaline, and favor conception of boys, while douching with vinegar, lemon or lime juice is said to favor conception of girls. It is said that if you eat more salty and potassium containing foods, it is most likely that you will conceive a boy, if you consume more calcium and magnesium rich foods you will most likely conceive a girl.
The foods to eat more of for conception of girls are of 125 grams meat or fish per day - chicken, lamb, veal, turkey, goose, eggs, soft and unsalted cheese, butter, fresh cream, yogurt, salt free bread, crisp breads, pastry without yeast or salt, rice, flour, wheat germ, corn flour, pasta, semolina, tapioca, apples, strawberries, raspberries, tinned (peaches, apricots, pineapples and plums without syrup) melons, pears, peas, beans, carrots, potatoes, turnips, leeks, onion, radishes, cucumber, celery, cress, capsicum, cooked tomatoes, eggplant, leafy green vegetables, except those to exclude, all nuts except chestnuts, sugar, honey, jam, jelly, unsalted margarine, vegetable oil, pepper, spices, unsalted sauces, milk at least 4 cups per day, buttermilk, low sodium mineral water. Even taking cranberry supplements is said to favor conception of girls.
The foods to eat more of for conception of boys are meats,including beef, fish, shellfish (crab, lobster, prawn, shrimp, oysters, scallops) eggs limit 1-2 per week, white bread and flour products, biscuits, pastries (non dairy) products, grains, rice, pasta, cereals, non-dairy cakes, all vegetables except those to exclude, all fresh fruit, dried fruits-prunes, apricots, figs, dates, raisins, sugar, jam, honey, jelly, tea, coffee, alcohol, fruit juice, soft drinks and any foods that contain more sodium and potassium in general, and eat less of the calcium rich foods.
I have yet to figure out which astrological aspects favor twins. If trying to avoid conception of twins, It is recommend to sleep in the dark, and avoid eating wild yams.
To avoid miscarriage it is said you should avoid planetary alignments in your chart. By knowing in advance when these specific alignments are active in your chart, it would be wise to avoid becoming pregnant. This way you can prevent miscarriages and stillbirths. You look at (secondary) progressed charts, converse progressed charts and solar return charts. Get a progressed and secondary progressed chart and study it to avoid these planetary aspects in your chart.
regarding the sign on the 5th house cusp (Topocentric houses)
- mostly, the 5th house cusp was in Gemini (14 cases out of 23) or in Scorpio (12 cases)
- less often, the 5th house cusp was in Aquarius or Pisces (both in only 3 cases out of 23)
regarding the degree areas of the 5th house cusp or its ruler
- 20° in Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius) was occupied 6 times out of 23
- 8° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn) was occupied 6 times out of 23
- 12° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn) was occupied 5 times out of 23
- 17° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn) was occupied 5 times out of 23

- Aside from these very important significations, previous research confirmed that 21° in Cardinal signs seems to be a degree of miscarriages too.
Also note that the ruler of the 5th house of children square or opposite Uranus in the solar return chart or the progressed horoscope is a possible indication of miscarriage.
I have never looked at any charts to verify this information. Loosing a baby is difficult enough without finding or looking for something to blame. I got the miscarriage information from Luc De Jaeger. There are more fertility methods that I did not include, such as checking cervical mucus, temperature charting, ovulation testing and so forth. Nor did I include information about sperm sorting. I hope you have found some of this info helpful and/or informative.
