I have one very simple but powerful suggestion to add: Whenever you feel like the Universe has it in for you, try replacing that "you've got to be kidding --- what's next?" attitude with a good dose of unconditional graditude.

Conscious acceptance of what is, regardless of how you think it should be, shows that you truly do trust the universe. It also has a very powerful effect on how you deal with everyday events through the positive change brought on with the new perception.    

Try it. What have you got to lose?

Batting you have the right idea!  I do the same.  I always ask okay what can I expect in the next ten days so I can prepare.  Living in the now right before us is a hard concept but it is that precious moment when we can make changes, alter our course and lesson the impact of things from the past coming back to haunt you.
