Valentines day ... phenomenal break ups ....

Did your relationship just suddenly end in the last week or so?   You can blame it on Valentines day!

People have such funny emotional reactions to a Holiday that is set apart for relationships.  Expectations run high.  Any time there is an expectation, there will be disappointment.

Again, another quote from Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, "We had literally lost the ability to feel pleased and had to relearn it slowly" (88).

This blockage is for the giver and the receiver.  There should be joy in giving love, and there should be joy in receiving love.  However when it is EXPECTED, the joy is taken out of the equation.

Surprises are exciting, new, and an opportunity to experience something not known previously, a learning experience.  What is more boring that having the same joke told over and over, and having to pretend that the old joke is funny??

Valentines day has so many expectations that some relationships cannot handle the "set-up" for a planned and scheduled disappointment that has been set on the Calendar ... the dreaded 14th of February.

In order to avoid the disappointment, the relationship will go through a period of separation ... a breakup.

The same phenomena happens during the Holidays!  Check your calendar!  Did you relationship take a dump during the Holidays?  Chances are your relationship will take a dump about this time of February.

So when your significant other asked you to come on over ... and leaves a condom in the bathroom trash ... consider the possibilities that your neediness or expectations of the up and coming Holiday may have created enough anxiety in your relationship that a "set-up" was needed to avoid a "disappointing" emotional display for a specific up and coming day on the Calendar.

When things settle down, and the Calendar moves on past this eventful day ... things will settle down for the rest of the year .... until the Holidays kick up dust next Fall ... take some time this season to explore your relationship and what expectations you may have.

If you are the unfortunate one to find the condom in the trash ... step back ... get real and try to get to a place were it is comical that your significant other is so worried to disappoint you that he/she would go to all that trouble.

Of course, your not gonna talk to him/her!  Of course you are going to take care of your emotional needs and rock down the house for a "forget-me-HOT" evening to soothe your fried nerves ... But you will be so much wiser of what your love is capable of when it comes to EXPECTATIONS!

I love you, I love you, I love you!

I should be online most of this weekend.  My sister does have a Stake Conference Speech for Sunday that I will be attending with the grand kids.  Again if I am on "Alert" chances are the grand kids are in the near vicinity and it may be noisy, or the other possibility is that I missed a call and the phone went to "Alert" that happens too!  If I'm on "Arrange calls" I'm out and about and cannot tend to your needs at the moment, so please arrange a call.  I will be right with you as soon as I can.  Otherwise, if my blue light, "Taking Calls" is on, I am free and clear to tap into the Universal Source and get your answers for you.
