Can Dessert For Breakfast Help Your Diet? That's a BIG YES!
I've finally settled down so I've had the same doctor for over a year now. Every time she sees me she's surprised I'm still losing weight. No real plateaus, no great speed, just a steady 5 to 7 pounds lost every month. Every time she'll say again, "All your numbers are perfect, calcium, cholesterol, heart rate. blood sugar.... Now tell me again what you're eating?"
As I've mentioned here before, I'm a big fan of 'YOU on a Diet', 'Volumetrics' and 'The Daily Plate website' . I'm not a cook. I don't use an oven more than once a year. So I used those two books to come up with what is for me, the ultimate, delicious, satisfying, nutritious dessert breakfast.
I don't think it's possible or healthy to stick to a low fat diet. I
stick to a balanced diet with only healthy fats. I'm on 1442 calories a
day. This is a stick-to-your-ribs breakfast that will make your mouth
water as soon as you open that microwave and the scent hits your nose.
The average woman needs 25 to 30 grams of fiber a day. In America,
women tend to get under seven grams of fiber a day. As you can see, I
jump start my fiber intake with this breakfast.
If you'd like to start your day with a delicious dessert that you don't ever have to feel guilty about, you might want to try this on.
Peach Cobblery Steel Cut Oats
Peach
1 peach (170g)
Bob's Red Mill Steel Cut Oats Cereal
1/4 Cup dry (40g)
Skippy Natural Creamy Peanut Butter
1 Tbsp (16 grams)
Splenda With Fiber
3 packets
Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon
Water
1.3 Cup
Dump the dry ingredients into a high sideded seven cup Rubbermaid bowl. Add the water. Then the MEASURED peanut butter and a peach chopped up. Set the power to 8, the time to 14 minutes, hit start, turn up the music and dance till your breakfast is done.
At my weight, that means I burn 115 calories fixing breakfast, gets my heart rate and metabolism up, I dance in front of mirrors so it gets me smiling, But nothing makes me smile like the numbers.... Look at these, from my page at The Daily Plate.

big delicious YES! :)
But wait... while we're here, two more things. Of course you'll wash that peach before you cut it, and then you'll cut it and then you'll think you need to wash your hands... nooooo. Do not wash peach juice off your hands. Work that barely acidic juice into your face and neck (It will NOT be sticky once dry) or if you've already applied your makeup, rub in on your arms. You'll love the way it makes your skin feel.
And while you're dancing, if you're half as into yourself as I am, you're looking in a mirror, what a perfect time to do your Vowels Face Exercises. Say your vowels as extremely as you can Ayyyyyyyy Ayyyyyyyy Ayyyyyyy, tightening your face muscles as you go then finish your breakfast and think about it....
I've faced many days in my life that started out with unhealthy foods in unhealthy amounts. Now for over a year I've started out every day looking my best, happy as a lark and proud of myself too. Try it on if you like. McDonald's is crazy - I'm loving THIS. :)
