Well that's easy to answer.
If you believe in creation, then the bird came first. God created the mourning dove and it laid eggs.
If you believe in evolution, the egg came first. A bird a whole lot like the mourning dove laid an egg, the egg had a slight mutation in it, an accident if you will, and bamm, this slightly different bird was the mourning dove.
I'm not the only person who definitely believes God created us AND that evolution is a scientific fact. But I never hear about our 'third perspective' on evolution and I'm in a mood to share.
My theory is this simple, only humans would limit God to creating things one way and then leaving them that way. Never mind the fact that you were born a baby and you've been evolving ever since. So right there we have proof God likes watching things change, and creates things that change. How many things? Eh-VER-eeeY thing. Even rocks grow. Yeah, sure, they're really slow about it.... but even rocks evolve.
Seasons change, continents change, seeds grow up to be lions, tigers, bears, flies, birds, fish, dogs, cats, tomatoes, watermelon and yep, even people.
So I don't think God created everything one way and then left it that way. And I don't think mutations are accidents. I think God is quite a bit bigger and brighter than creationists and evolutionists would have us believe. I think God created evolution and it's utterly brilliant.
Look again at that sweet dove above. Why I'll bet it's great to the 10th power grandpappy was a pterosaur - an order of flying reptiles that lived during the time of the dinosaurs.
And I betcha God enjoyed every single step of the evolutionary process. Maybe. Maybe not. Anyways, that's what I believe. It's okay if you disagree, please just don't tell me that God couldn't have created evolution.... cause it always makes me laugh when human beings try to put limits on our creator. :D
