Do you know the cure for the relationship poison we call 'impatience?'
Ah impatience.... it is a slow acting, yet deadly poison to relationships, especially relationships with men. It seems there exists a short program in the subconscious of many men that when a woman goes faster than he does it waves a red flag that says "this is not the one, this is not the one, danger Will Robinson, danger, danger!"  In any case, we try to hide it, disguise it, cover it up like cat shit, but impatience is slippery and fast and will sneak out, peep out, creep out before you can say "WTH!?!"

What on earth are we to do with the relationship killer - impatience?  First realize what it is.... It is only the brain saying "I can't be happy until" (he makes a commitment, stops hanging out with the guys, says I love you... whatever).  That would be fine but when he perceives we want him to hurry up, that usually makes him feel compelled to slow down. The dance becomes a chase. The chase burns the relationship to a crisp.

So how are we to kill impatience before it kills another relationship?  We make a liar out of our brain every time it tells us we can't be happy until x, y or z... right then we must, Must, MUST right then, do something thrilling, exciting or luxuriant.  Because impatience is just your brain insisting you can't be happy until x, y or z happens, so when you do something right then that makes you happy right then.... after a few times your brain says... "Oh yeah, yes I can too be happy before I get x, y, z or whatever.... I do that all the time. I've made a habit of it."  And that stops the lie. Impatience is a lie we tell ourselves. Proof is what cures impatience and it is the only thing that cures impatience except losing interest. And I don't think you're ready to lose interest or you wouldn't be here reading this right now.

Right on time Lollie. Impatience is a mutha(shut yo mouth) for sure.  I am dealing with it right now. Surprisingly I have been using the technique of making my brain out of lie by busying myself with other thoughts and actions..(I.e. journaling, etc..) I've been itching to call u since a big blow up happened after my reading with u last month just to see if there has been a shift in the proposed timeline and to see if the relationship is over, but I remember your voice saying we can't go back on what the cards say, so I am being patient..patience is definitely a virtue. Thanks for another great post!

On the surface you are absolutely correct. However, feelings and emotions do not respond easily to logical and rational explanations. It is always a conflict between the brain and the heart and more times than not,the heart will win. This is the reason why humanity has not found a cure or explanation for love and its demands.I wish there were one. Maybe you will discover it and let us know or tell us your love secret in addition to your thoughts above. You are still very special in my heart.

I need patience and a little luck as well. I'm always asking when he will contact me so we can progress with each other but the reality is that, the more I wait for 1 specific way, the worst and longer it takes for anything positive to happen.  That is my issue. I just wished that he would contact me and I'll breathe a slight sigh of relief but only for that day.....what will happen the next day and the next day and so forth.....:)

Wow, so well said Lolls. N u so know that I've have (hopefully n finally )learned this lesson the hard way!! You need to step back and like you said, do something thrilling, or exciting for yourself n get ur mind off of him. It really does work wonders if you keep telling yourself, "Don't lead the dance"... Thx for  your advise,  you are the best Lolls! <3

U ARE EXACTLY RIGHT MY PATIENTS STOP SO MANY BLESSINGS FROM GOD, HE WANT ME TO BE PATIENT, HE SAID LET GO LET GOD,,,AND I KEEP TRYING TO ANSWER MY OWN PRAYERS INSTEAD OF LETTING HIM DO HIS WORK WITHOUT INTERFERING WITH HIM
