How in the world do you wrench your mind away from heartache? Or any emotional distress for that matter? I know one thing that works. Distraction. I'll show you what I mean. If you're suffering right now you'll get to see whether I'm right or wrong for you. I hope you'll share your results and any other techniques you have that work too.
Distraction works.
If you're totally obsessed with your heartache and can think of nothing else.... it may take jet skis or a roller coaster to shift your focus.
But if you're the least bit tired of worrying over the matter like a dog with a bone... you don't even have to leave the house to take a break from thinking, thinking, thinking about that man. :)
Here are a few slide shows that work for me. In fact, I started today out - feeling sorry for myself. (Aww, pwoor Wahwee!) I knew I couldn't let that continue. So I wrote this page and 'then' tested it. I laughed, I oouued, I awwed, I chuckled and I grinned. A few times tears of laughter came to my eyes; even more times tears of awe. Worked so well, now I'm going to post it.

Next time you're miserable over anything or anyone and you can't go ride the rollercoaster, come on by, relax and enjoy one of the shows. Or what the heck, go see a fascinating movie or watch something compelling on tv. Just do something that really shifts your attention. Still these are handy for all of us now, any time one of us needs a quick break.
Flickr is the largest photo sharing community in the world. These shows will update themselves with whatever pictures are rated most interesting in Flickr on the day you watch them. I got a feelin' they'll never let us down.
