My Funniest, Most Surprisingly Romantic Reading
The funniest reading of my life was also one of the most romantic. I shared this before. But I love it so much I figure now is a good time to share it again.
It was a perfect morning, the sun was shining brightly, illuminating the pink dogwood blossoms on the tree in my front yard. I could hear the cardinals singing outside. I'd had my first cup of coffee and was ready and curious about what today's readings would bring. Little did I know I was about to be blessed with the funniest and most romantic reading I'd ever seen.
Her voice sounded 30ish-40ish, intelligent, healthy and strong willed. She asked a simple and common question. "How is my husband feeling towards me these days?"
When I laid out the cards I was shocked. I told her, “please forgive me, maybe this was a bad shuffle, maybe I’m way off track, but the cards say he thinks you’re the most hateful bitch from hell that has ever lived and at the same time; he would still rather be with you than any woman, even a kind woman.”
I breathed a sigh of relief when her response was laughter. She said, “No, you’re on track. I think he screwed around on me three months ago and I have given him pure hell every minute we’re together ever since then.”
I said, “You ‘think’ he screwed around? Let’s see what the cards say.” My logical mind figured he was guilty. Why else would a man take so much hell and still love her as much as ever? But the answer surprised me again. I laid the cards out and clear as a bell it said he’d been severely tempted, there had been talk of it, but he had not laid a hand on that other woman because he would not risk losing his wife no matter the temptation. He had turned away from the temptation and never looked back.
She was shocked because that's exactly what he had told her happened.
There are a million things a man can say when accused of screwing around and I’ve heard or read most of them. When the psychic and the man say the exact same thing, folks that's either the world's biggeset coincidence or that is accurate. He had not screwed around on her and he had taken pure hell from her for three months and his love for her had not diminished even one iota.
That reading happened years ago and it still makes me laugh and it still brings tears to my eyes. I guess it always will because that is pure love. That is the most unshakable love I’ve ever seen in real life or the cards. But who in the world could have expected the most romantic thing they would ever hear a man say about a woman would begin with, “She’s the most hateful bitch from hell that’s ever lived?”
