Relationships follow laws of nature. You cannot expect a plant to grow overnight just because you poured 10 gallons of water on it and blasted it with a thousand BTU of thermal energy. In fact, over-doing it is likely to kill most plants.
Similarly, treat your relationship like a growing plant. You have to take care of it. Water it regularly, but don't over water it. Most efforts to make it blossom faster will kill it. It's better to allow time for the roots grow longer and stronger. Patience isn't just a virtue, it's an important component in relationships too.
