The Ultimate Thanksgiving - w/pic
If in your prayers you're thanking God for everything during the holidays and
you're miserable, then your prayer is kind of a big fat lie. Think about it. The only
completely honest expression of gratitude there is, is enjoyment. If
you're not enjoying it, you're not that grateful. If you consider
yourself a loving family member and only enjoy the most normal members
of your family.... you're limiting
your own pleasure.
Imagine
a Thanksgiving with no nuts and no spices. Taste that pecan pie with no nuts and with no spices. Or how about that beautiful pumpkin pie? Pretty bland. Pretty boring.
It's the nuts and the spices that give the holiday it's special
flavors, aromas and memories.... and so it is with our families. The
nuts and the spiciest characters in our families give us and our family
holidays flavor, spice, life and character. How bland holidays would be
without them. Memories, like pies, require all spices, all the family
nuts.
What if we decided to enjoy everyone this holiday just like a good movie? Good movies are full of spicy characters too. Don't try to rewrite them or wish them to be different, mostly to the best of your ability, just enjoy them. Yes, I know there are some dangerous exceptions to this rule, but not many.
When is now a good time for you to decide to enjoy this holiday to the fullest?
