If you are a reader of my blog, then you would know I'm going through the process of trying to buy a home. It can be a boggling experience for the first time home buyer. Lately I've been doing a great deal of soul searching about what the 'right' home is for my family. It sure feels like a long process as you search mls listings and try to figure out where you want to live, and how much you really want to spend for your home.
Now I see the home here on earth as a temporary thing because I know when I leave here I certainly will not be taking anything material along with me. Often we get too caught up in worldly things we forget about enjoying the journey. Even I have to remind myself to just slow down and not get too ahead of myself. It's just a house as a friend reminded me a long time ago.
I did put an offer in on a house last night, but I'm dealing with the bank and not another person. So I may be in for a longer journey with a little more complications along the way. Today I find myself thinking that even if my offer isn't acceptable there are other houses out there. What is really important is how I spend each day. My son with Down syndrome is always a reminder to ENJOY today because it's such a precious gift. I want to provide him with a place he knows is home, but at the same time I know the memories we have together are far more valuable than the price of this house. You just can not put a price on time with family.
Thing about this house is that I've noticed little signs along the way which just seem perfect. A contractor just happened to have free time to see the house and take a good look at it when I wanted to make an offer. He also just happened to have a window matching the exact size of the one that needs to be replaced. The neighbor just happens to be an old friend I knew. I prayed to God asking him for a sign and the letter "S" just happened to be in stone on the porch.
I have learned along the way that everything "HAPPENS" for a reason. I just KNOW I'm on the right path right now.
I know many of you question the path you are on. I would tell you to certainly pay attention to the signs around you. Ask for guidance and most of all BELIEVE in your own intuition and self. I do believe if you ask for an answer, you will get one. Now sometimes the answer is NO, but sometimes the answer is YES or perhaps even maybe if you wait a little longer. Whatever you do, keep the faith and believe in your dreams.
Wishing you the very best today, tomorrow, and always. Serenity Star
