Sundays rock...at least for me.  It's like everyone is just 'chilled out' and the vibes are generally smooth.  Other than the weather being out-of-season where I'm at, it's a great Sunday.

Inspiration has struck...it's blog time!

 

 

My first thought is actually about the client.  I'm really thankful for the fortune I've had this weekend with the calls I've gotten.  Over all, I've made great connection with the callers and have left them feeling better, wiser and a little more hopeful than before they called.  As for me?  I thrill to help others.  I do this in many aspects of my life, not just advising, but my school focus (psychology), my 'other' job in which I work in the growth and development of children and my home life, in which I am currently tending to my elderly grandparents.  This is a life lesson by the way, and I realize this.

So, after all that babbling, I just want to shed some positive light on the client...for with your satisfactory calls such as today and even the heated hang ups that happen once in awhile, I'm still thankful...and I will keep telling myself that!

 

Cool Books

 

 

I've started reading a new book and it's about the Runes.  I don't work for the book company or the author, but as a blogger, I would like to mention it (hope this is not against the rules?).

The books name is "A Practical Guide To The Runes" by Lisa Peschel.  I just began reading on it last night, as I finished my other book I just got, "Pendulum Power, A mystery you can see, A Power you can feel" by Greg Nielsen & Joseph Polansky.

Real quick about that one, it's ok.  I'm giving it a 3 out of 5 stars, only because there is some irrelevant information (for me).  BUT, there are several ponderous points made throughout the whole book and I would say is worth the read.  It's written in very easy to read format and is enjoyable.

But, as far as the current 'Rune' book I'm reading, I'll have to update you on that later, but so far, what I have read, is wonderful.  The books cover boast over 150,000 sold, so it surely is going to be worth the read as well?  Below in the 'Rune' section, you will find an excerpt from the book*.  It's from the 'Rune Magik' section, and is really good...all rune attributes are in the book, but I've listed only today's rune.

My next new book I bought that 'm going to read (I already owned this one, btw, but lost it many years ago...am happy to have it back) is "The Lesser Key of Solomon Goetia - 1906". 

The cover is not the same as the one I had originally in 1993, but it appears, at a quick glance, the same.  At this point, I'm not even going to get into this book, as it is very profound.  Written originally back in the day when people spoke differently, like Shakespeare or even Jesus' time.  Takes much scholarship and application.

This book will be used in conjunction with my new scrying mirror...another project waiting on me.

It also governs the technical aspects of magick. It is the rune that governs passion, lust and sexual love as fiery, positive attributes.

My Personal Rune of the Day

 

The more I've been studying about the runes and creating my strong personal bond with my new stones, I've learned that along with studying each rune, it's symbol and meaning, to have a personal rune each day. Sounds like a prescription...and it is! It's a 'heads up' on your day. Like in the tarot, the runes give you an idea of how your day will be and it's up to you to do with that information as you intuitively feel.

For example, if I draw a rune from my pouch after my initial prayer to Odin and Freya, and it's a stone representing great & positive things, then I'm going through my day bravely and enjoying it, relishing in it and learning as much as I can along the way.

The opposite would be true if I were to say, draw an ill-dignified stone, one that had a negative meaning. Does my day have to be ruined now? No, and that's the beauty of the rune and rune casting...now we have a warning. With this warning, YOU must make decisions to make change. NOW...it's in your hands.

You can change the prediction, or, if you're a glutten for punishment, ignore the warning and continue with the day like it's peachy-keen. When you have a good dose of reality, you'll be able to realise the help from the stones.

This is a rune of new birth and new beginnings.  Although it can be indicative of an actual birth or marriage it can also refer to personal growth and development and the prosperity of an enterprise.  It can indicate the start of something special and to facilitate this, doubts must cleansed before moving forward.  Other meanings include: fertility in the bodily sense, beauty and the breasts of the Earth Goddess.

Reversed
This rune reversed is symbolic of hurdles or problems getting in the way of the birth or start of something.  This rune reversed warns of stagnation.

Growing faith in ghosts in the UK

Four IN 10 Britons believe in ghosts and the supernatural according to research by a theology think tank.
 
Theos also found that more than half of people believe in life after death and that London has the highest number of people who believe in ghosts.

Carried out by ComRes on behalf of Theos, the poll of 2,000 shows that 70 per cent of people believe in the human soul, 55 per cent believe in heaven and 53 per cent believe in life after death.

The research also found that 22 per cent believe in astrology or horoscopes, just over one-quarter believe in reincarnation and 15 per cent trusted fortune telling or Tarot cards.

The results are surprising when compared to a Gallup poll in 1950, which found that only one in 10 people believed in ghosts and that only seven per cent of the public believed in predicting the future by cards.

However the results are similar to a 1998 MORI poll in which 18 per cent of the public said they believed in fortune-telling or tarot.

Commenting on the research, Director of Theos Paul Woolley said: "The enlightenment optimism in the ability of science and reason to explain everything ended decades ago.

"The extent of belief will probably surprise people, but the finding is consistent with other research we have undertaken.

"The results indicate that people have a very diverse and unorthodox set of beliefs.

"Our research may point to a slight increase in scepticism about aspects of the supernatural over the last 10 years."
