Tuesday

  • Is ruled by Mars.
  • The color associated with Mars is red.
  • The positive influence of Mars concerns developing courage, overthrowing enemies, military honors, breaking negative spells.
  • In the negative aspect, Mars can create strife and hardships, cause bitterness between friendships, etc.

Welcome Blog readers....now I'm concerned.  Not REALLY, but, the weather here is going now 3 days and gorgeous.  Oh, the wind, how it blows and reminds me of my trip last year to the U.S. Virgin Islands.  At this point, I'd take ANY island...just me, the wind, the water (all the elements for that matter) and my laptop ;-)  A readers gotta blog, you know?  LOL.

Family Matters of an Elderly Kind

If you've ever had family issues, this is the blog for you.  A little personal delima we could all learn from.  At least for me, it's therapeutic to write about it.  So where are all my amateur psychologists?  Holla if you hear me!

Today for me has been one on family matters.  To keep the inoccent protected...not that all parties in the story I'm relating are inoccent, but for arguments sake...let's say they are, I shall remain nameless.

Anyway, I seem to have an on-going 'head-butting' contest with my grandfather.  The number one reason is...I moved in with them.  At their request, needing help without having to go to the nursing home, I obliged this about 5 months ago.  Argh!!!  LOVE them, yes.  Right now, ready to knock out some old people.  Obviously I wouldn't, trust me, but you can't stop me from fantasizing!

Lessons Learned

So, my lesson of the day is clearly patience, understanding, la da da da...you get it.  Seems common.  We're destined to repeat mistakes made if no lesson was learned.  This is a magik rule and common sense, I think?  I seem to live by this, anyway.

What about Karma?

Now my mind wanders to Karma.  You know, what you put out, you get back.  Depending on what religion or group is preaching it, some say you get back 3-fold, some say 10-fold...First of all, what in the world is a 'fold'?  Secondly, anything back from my Karma is scary...even one fold.  So, I must've put out some crazy Karma in my past because this current situation in my life is some kind of punishment beyond my control...LEARN...must get past this.

Quote of the Day:

One of my favorite quotes is "This too shall pass"...betcha can't guess what great work of magic that is from?  But seriously, this too NEEDS to pass, I say.

Can you help me out?

Now my next question is what about you?  Got any suggestions how to deal with an old, in pain, stuck-in-his-ways, grumpy old man?  I take all the sh!t that rolls downhill...let me tell you!  However, I'm usually strong enough to take, process and exterminate what is unuseful to me.  On other times, especially in the morning hours, not so strong.  This is where the conflicts usually get the most energy.  I try to keep as much around as I can, but sometimes it gets stolen.

Staying Positive

So, that's what's on my mind this beautiful Tuesday.  I shall remain 'cup half full' so long as I can remain focused.  Feel free to leave any comments or insight as all feedback is the best way to a readers heart, I say!

Cauldron Cookies

  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon rind
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans

Cream the butter in a large cast-iron cauldron ( or mixing bowl ).  Gradually add the brown sugar, beating well.  Add the eggs, lemon juice, and rind, and then beat by hand or with an electric mixer until the mixture is well blended.  The next step is to stir in the flour and pecans.

Cover the cauldron with a lid, aluminum foil, or plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight.

When ready, shape the dough into one-inch balls and place them about three inches apart on greased cookie sheets.  Bake in a 375-degree preheated oven for approximately eight minutes.  Remove from the oven and place on wire reacks until completely cool.

This recipe yields about 36 cookies which can be served at any of the eight Sabbats, as well as at Esbats and all other Witchy get-togethers.

Spell of the Day:

To help develop a healthy sense of Reality

It's important to have as an ally a small voodoo doll that looks like you, to reinforce the process of healthy change.  With each new attitude that influences your personality in a signifigant way, add a white ribbon to the doll.  White is the color of the sould, and you are embarked on nothing so much as transforming your soul in powerful ways.  What we learn in life we take with us after death, and everything you can learn that benefits you will continue to do so for all time.

Working Magic For Others

Magicians aren't selfish.  They utilize magic to impove their lives, yes, but they also help others who come to them with problems.  Before performing magical acts for other persons, inform them of your intentions, and receive permission for the working.  If you're making a magically-charged object for a friend, ask before creating it if such an object would be accepted.  Such measures will ensure that you're not influencing and altering others' lives without their consent.
