Andy's Fingers

Andy and I had a psychic connection somehow. We weren't related by blood, as he was a polish man who married in to our family, but we were related by spirit. I have so many warm memories of growing up with him! Besides being a great talker with very tall shoulders to ride on, he was creative and funny. He had a huge passion for life and a good listening ear no matter what the age or who the person was.

I remember once at the age of eight I brought him a large empty tooth paste box and asked him what I could do with it. It was such a nice thing and I didn't want to throw it out. Instead of brushing me off he looked at my box and took me very seriously. After a minute he suggested I make a grandfather clock out of it for my Barbie-dolls, which I did.

A year later, my mom had the urge to move to Michigan, so we left Buffalo and were living there at the MSU Spartan Village married housing. Out of the blue I got a box in the mail from Uncle Andy, full of homemade Barbie-doll things.

He'd taken every kind of house hold item, like panty hose, thimbles, popsicle-sticks and food containers, to make me some very fancy barbie doll furniture out of  these knick knacks. It was so fun unveiling the many creations he sent me for my barbies!!

As a five year old living in Buffalo in an apartment owned by my grandparents (they lived upstairs), I had a premonition dream related to my Uncle Andy.

In my dream I was standing at a metal machine that had sharp blades moving on it. My hand went under the blades and I watched my fingers chop off and fall into a waste basket or some container under the machine.

A couple weeks later my Uncle Andy had an accident at work where his fist, second and ring fingers were chopped off by a machine.

He had little stubs for fingers on one of his hands and it didn't seem to get him down for long. After a while he began teasing people by sticking his pointer stump up his nose to make it look like his finger was up in his brain, or he'd stick all his stumps on his head (creating a stange effect) when folks were looking.

He'd even stick his stumps up his nose for strangers passing by on the interstate.

(In reality he was simply touching his stumps to the tip of his nostrils and not really IN them! lol :-)

He sure loved his children, a girl and a boy. It's such a tragedy that he died when they were still so young. They deserved to know him and to have him as their dad! He has a grown son now who looks a lot like him, and a grandson named after him. We call him "Little Andy".

Since his death, Andy has visited me to share what it's like after we cross over. I'm very blessed to have this connection with him. The story of his visit is titled: Ripple Effect . . True Story- here in my blog (in the catagory of 'death and spirituality').

Great story about your friend Andy.  I too have connections with loved ones on the other side and it is so wonderful.  I know that the connection you feel for Andy is because he was a kindred spirit from your soul family.  Thank you for sharing this story.
