Angel Reminder

Let Go!

I have a friend named Cindy who was driving down the road one night during a storm. It was a country road and very dangerous conditions. Suddenly her car lost control and she started to run off the road. Just as she was about to go over an embankment she released her hold on the wheel and screamed out, "I Let Go and Let God!”

She doesn't remember anything after this. Suddenly she was on the road moving along and everything was just fine again! One minute she was about to crash off the road and the next she was sitting in her car as it cruised down the middle of the lane.

Dear Fawn:
That is a very powerful story.  I love your blogs for they are so real and so very uplifting.  There are Angels around us.
Thank you for sharing with us.

My father once told us about a similar experience he had years ago, driving home on a two lane state highway out in the middle of nowhere. It was late at night and he was exhausted;  he dozed off for a moment, then woke abruptly to find his car part way off the road on the right, barrelling straight toward a concrete bridge abutment. He said there was no time to react. Suddenly a white light filled the inside of the car where he was sitting, and the wheels turned back onto the road, at the last possible second.  I don't think he had even had time to pray, but he was very close to God at certain times in his life, and this event happened during one of those periods. It always made me feel happy to think how the angels watched over him, even when he couldn't say a prayer for help. Maybe they heard a prayer in his heart as he felt the dread of crashing, or maybe it was just not God's will for his life on earth to end at that point.
As a child, it made me feel that my dad must be very special and important, to have been the recipient of this miraculous supernatural event. Now I realize, we are all that special and important, in the realm of spirit; even if we never experience an event like that, there are so many others if we could just recognize them. Our lives are all the most miraculous stories, that we are trying to tell, and trying to let play out at the same time, and we forget how they are supposed to go, but God and our angels remember, and faithfully ever guide us there when we allow it.

"We forget how they (our lives) are supposed to go, but God and our angels remember, and faithfully ever guide us there when we allow it."

This is one of the most beautiful and meaningful things I've ever read/heard.  It just says it all.  Thank you so much.

I'm so glad that God allowed/guided me to write something that was meaningful to you! Probably something your soul  knew already and therefore recognized... When Pope John Paul was lying in state following the shooting that took his life in 1981, tens of thousands of mourners poured into St Peter's Square in Rome to attend an open-air Mass in his honor; probably many were not Catholic, or even regular church-goers. But Spirit recognizes Spirit...
Thank you for commenting! It's an encouragement to try writing more short, inspirational pieces, which I found I really enjoyed!
And thank you MCN for this space to meet and recognize each other. : )
