How to Bond With Your Tarot Cards
There is a belief that a tarot deck given as a gift to you is a more powerful one. My life long tarot reading friend needed a new deck a few years back and called me up, "Can you buy me any deck and send it to me asap?" she asked.
I had to laugh, but did just as she asked!
Experience has shown me there's truth to the gift of a deck, and to the psychic energy it offers, lol.
I was the teen who collected tarot cards, pouring over artwork and symbolic meanings during every free minute. Later in college I did the same thing, and in marriage my husband would often bless me with the gift of a tarot deck.
Yet, the real BOND with one particular deck didn't happen until my first born was two years old. At that time my grandma had a beautiful calendar with artwork I adored. She promised me that when the year was up, I'd get to take it home.
January came and I found myself tearing out the pages and hanging them on my bedroom wall. I'd stare at each page, allowing full emotional effect of the pictures to sink in.
What I didn't know but should have, is that these very pictures where actually individual tarot cards in the Enchanted Tarot deck! lol.
I didn't learn this fact until a friend showed up with that deck and guide book in her hands, as a gift!
She'd seen them in a store and knew how I adored the arwork so much that I'd stuck them all over my bedroom walls.
She felt compelled to buy them for me! Yea baby!
I was honered, amazed, delighted and eager to learn every card.
I already had an emotional connection to what turned out to be the Major Arcana I'd been eye balling on my wall everyday.
The Lover card brought out images and feelings that I'd come to feel very familiar with, as did the Fool, & the World . . . etc. each one a different emotional flavor with a different set of images that passed through my psychic eye.
I began to choose a new card to carry in my back pocket every day. It would accompany me everywhere.
I'd study the card's basic picture & meaning, but the real bond didn't begin until I began to associate things in my day with this card in my pocket!
By day's end I knew this particular card inside and out. I saw visions and meaning each time I looked at it. The same effect happened with every single card thereafter.
Real MAGIC happened when after I'd bonded over time with each and every card, I THEN . . . started studying the lay outs.
WOW! My psychic eye danced all over a reading. Meaning and visions played all over my mind. The deck had brought me an enhansed 'third eye view"!
I teach people to read tarot this way now, to bond with each card by going beyond the guide book meanings and actually working with the psychic side of themselves in relation each. It takes time.
Tarot cards are tools to enhanse a reading. I use them rarely on keen calls because I work very well as an empathic energy reader. Though sometimes when there's a block and I'm at a loss, my tarot friends are always there to assist.
I trust my guides and the guides of a person I'm reading, to allow the most perfect cards for any information needed at that moment, to appear before us.
I see the cards take shape in a lay out and wham! Unblocked!
For years I enjoyed cards I'd found myself, and those received as gifts. Native american, egyptian, pagan and even christian oriented.
Then one day it was as if I was struck by lightning, and a certain deck found me, or visa versa.
It's been a beautiful relationship ever since!
