Little Boy w/Red Ball @ Hospital: True Ghost Story
In another blog, earlier this year, I described the common appearance of a ghost child with a red ball who wanders around the hospital where I work, looking for his 'mommy'.
There have been several times when I've witnessed this myself, and finally a few nurses and myself went downstairs to the chapel at 2am, and through prayer guided this small child to the Light.
He apparently had died in the burn unit and spent years asking patients who could see him, for his 'mommy'. There were a few units where he was most popular as a 'haunt' and mine was one of them.
One night a nurse co worker refused care for a certain room of wards, because her patient had put her call light on to ask her, 'who the boy with the red ball is'. It was at 3am when there were obviously no visitors on the floor.
As skeptical as this nurse was, she couldn't deny what this patient was asking. I took over that room for my co worker and later wrote about these experiences on Shadowlands, which is a favorite site of mine.
I received the following email soon after I wrote the story:
Boy with the ball letter:
Hi,
I read your Ghost Story on the Shadowlands and wanted to comment about it. I also live in ___****_____. I also heard about the Ghost at the hospital. *&^**Hospital and &^&*^-- both have Ghosts. I for one experienced them at both hospitals. I was on the 6th south floor waiting for my surgery when this little Boy of 5 years old or so came to my bed asking for his mother. He had a white & red ball in his hand also. I told him I'm sorry Honey but I can't get out of bed and told him to go to the Nurses station across from my room. He just keep repeating "Mommy" I rang my bell for the nurses to come an got the speaker that someone will be here in a second. I just looked away for a second, an back and he was gone! The nurse came into my room just then an asked what I needed an I said there was a little boy that was just in my room asking for his mother.. The nurse just smiled and said " Honey must be the pain meds are kicking in" . I agreed it must have been some good drugs .. cause It seemed so real! Well after reading your story.. I know it is now. Just wanted to let you know I expierenced it also.
Sincerely, Kate
**I work on the very floor and hospital she described*
